We're always playing different games with our kids. Lately, the big games have been building a playhouse in the living room and driving our motorcycle (upside down bench) to the farm to have a picnic. E and I will often act as the muscle in the games, setting benches up with blankets on them, laying blankets out on the floor for a picnic and so on, but it is Ena who imagines the games and directs us in our actions. Both of our children seem to have a clear sense of what they want and Ena, at least, is never slow in letting us know what that is. She can be quite bossy when we are playing - issuing commands like "you lay here" "now you're sick, you need Dr. Bear" "run" "dance mommy, dance" and more - but it's hard to say no to her lovely face, especially when she sings or yells "hip hooray" in pleasure over your participation.
We've been having a lot of fun together lately. I wish all of our days could be filled with this kind of play.
